A mission to inspire people through cycling
Cycling for people with disabilities is a powerful way to push boundaries and build community. Willing Able stands behind this story and fully supports Michael Dvinge in his mission to advance this important cause. It is, however, a difficult marketing story – far from the influencers’ carefree hunt for likes and followers. We hope you will support Michael’s cause with honest attention.
Meet Michael Dvinge: the founder of Tour de Jutland
Meet Michael, the man behind the cycling project Tour de Jutland, which was created with one big vision: to inspire people with disabilities to cycle actively. With the project, Michael wanted to show that boundaries can be pushed, and that community and commitment can make room for everyone on the roads – regardless of physical challenges.
Michael’s journey has not been without bumps in the road. In 2017 he was hit head-on on a bike ride one quiet morning – an accident that turned his life upside down. After the accident he had to learn to live with a brain injury and to depend on a wheelchair. Despite the challenges, he has refused to give up his love of cycling. Today Michael rides a three-wheeled recumbent, which lets him keep challenging himself on the roads.

The need for accessible cycling communities
For a cyclist with a disability it can be hard to be part of an ordinary cycling club. He missed both the camaraderie of club training and the community around cycling. Tour de Jutland therefore became Michael’s way of getting that back – an initiative that creates a community where cyclists with and without disabilities can ride side by side.
Last year a group rode from Flensburg to Skagen in a project that was initially about proving that Michael could still push his limits. And still be in a social environment. But Tour de Jutland became more than a personal victory – it became a journey in overcoming challenges and an opportunity to inspire others with disabilities to challenge themselves and dare to go on adventures. Michael experienced how much such a ride could mean, both for himself and for everyone who took part. It underlined how important it is to have someone to share your passion with and to be part of something bigger.

Tour de Jutland: empowering cyclists and pushing boundaries
The positive response the project received from participants, spectators and media last year showed how much the project has to offer. It gave Michael the motivation to do it again – even bigger and even better.
This year Tour de Jutland followed the west coast, where a group rode 306 km from Hvide Sande to Slettestrand, this time spread over just four days. The route offered both short and long stages, so everyone, regardless of level, could join in and share the experience. Once again, Tour de Jutland was not just a physical challenge; it was an opportunity to inspire, feel the community and share a passion that knows no boundaries.
Tour de Jutland and cycling give Michael a joy of life he cannot do without. That is why he will keep challenging himself, inspiring and showing others that, despite challenges, it is possible to chase your dreams – and Michael is already looking forward to next year’s adventure.
